Hello fellow cat lovers,

So you’ve got cats? Let me start off with our story. We are a family of 6 people, 2 adults four kids and currently 10 cats. Yes that is not a typo 10 cats.

A few years back we decided that it would be fun to have a cattery and sell kittens. That does sound like fun doesn’t it?? Please don’t judge us. We love animals:)

We’ve owned cats, dogs, hamsters, rats, peacocks, chickens. We’ve also rescued many animals over the years, bunnies, raccoons, mice and recently a woodchuck.

So while we love animals and specifically cats, we don’t love the odors that having cats who reside with us create, by having 7 cat litter boxes. In fact there is nothing much worse than cat pee. Ok maybe skunks are worse, but cat pee is still awful!

As you can imagine what comes with a cattery is a lot of cat box odor, and while we loved raising the kittens for 6 years, when we finally decided to stop breeding, we were left with 10 full grown cats. If you’re anything like me the smell of cat urine is intolerable.

We had been through the whole gamut of different options that are available for use in eliminating kitty litter odors. You know, automatic cat litter scoopers, every conceiveable brand of cat litter, like Tidy Cat Litter and on and on. Nothing was working that well.

Yes when you changed the kitty litter boxes it would stop the cat urine odors briefly, that is until one of the cats would use the clean cat litter pans. Yipes here we go again, smelly house! Phoebe from Friends could have wrote a song about our house: Smelly house, Smelly house, oh what a Smelly  house.

Finally after being tortured for way too long with cat urine odor. We had had enough. After thoroughly thinking through this situation, we hatched a plan and came up with a completely brilliant idea. It was pure genius and need I say it again, brilliant! If it worked it would completely eliminate all of our cat urine ordor problems and our house would be once again back to smelling like a clean house should.

Luckily for you our brilliant cat eliminating odor plan worked. In fact it worked so beautifully that when you step into our house you would never suspect that we have 7 kitty litter boxes. The only giveaway would be that you would probably see various cats either sitting or lounging around the house as cats are known to do.

We decided that it wasn’t fair to the rest of the world to keep this completely brilliant and genius product to ourselves. After all we know better than most what cat pee is all about. So because of this we’ve put together a kit that you can purchase and thus you’ll be able to finally eliminate 100% of any kitty litter box odor that you have in your house. We call it Litter Vent

If you can’t take the cat urine odor anymore and would like to get your house back to smelling nice, this is the way to go. We guarantee that it will work for you, just like it does for us.

Please feel free to leave any comments about how fantastic you think Litter Vent is. We love accolades. Well obviously, duh.

Oh and one last thing, you’ll even be able to hide your cat litter furniture boxes under a table in your living room or kitchen or even your bedroom and no one will be the wiser, you won’t even remember it’s there. Just remember to be a good cat owner and change the litter regularly. Cats will take exception to having a really dirty litter box, so even though you won’t be smelling any odors, the litter box still needs to be changed.

My cat is a retard! She pees on furniture even though the litter box stays clean, what can I do?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: cat litter furniture

I have tried to use sprays on the furniture that is supposed to repel the urge for them to urinate there but it doesn’t seem to be helping. I have 3 cats and she is the only one that does it. And now I have a baby on the way. My husband keeps the litter box somewhat clean, and washes it out once a week, but what else can I do? She has already broken in the infant car seat and I had to detail it. Luckily I got it while it was ‘fresh’. Advice?

Does anyone know a good cat litter that clumps well?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: tidy cat litter

We moved recently and now keep the litter box in the laundry room. Still using the same litter (Tidy Cats with Tidy Lock, or something) but, with the room being somewhat humid, the clumps fall apart when I try to scoop them. We only have one cat, if that makes a difference. Thanks!

Scooping urine is for suckers. Use wood pellets with a sifting litter box, and you will never need to scoop urine again. You also won't need to perform litter changes, clean a nasty litter box, or sweep up litter that has been tracked on your floors. And you'll save a lot of money on litter (I spend $0.50/month). Wood pellets are also flushable and are much friendlier to the environment than clay litter.

What is the best cat litter on the market for odor control in a multi-cat house?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: cat litter odor

I have 2 cats and have tried all different kinds of cat litter (scoopable, clay, expensive, cheap, etc…) and I find that no matter what I have an odor problem in about 2 days. I also find that my cats are pretty messy about it (they track litter everywhere when they are done). They are both "fixed" but they are both young (less than one year)and don't seem to want to spend a lot of time being fastidious about their litter habits (are you kidding, that would take away from play time!) Maybe they just need to get a little older and slower. Any advice on quality of litter etc… would be appreciated!

Well I like Tidy Cats, and they make a multi-cat formula and a "tight space" formula that is supposed to better control odors (haven't used that version before myself). I think that it controls odors well and clumps tightly.

We put a carpet scrap under the litter box that extends out about six inches from the front of the box. That seems to catch some of the litter kicked out when they go in and out.

You do need to scoop the box every day, though to really control odor. Do you have a covered litter box? I think that they work better in terms of odor control and keeping the litter in the box. Wal-Mart has some nice covered boxes that aren't too expensive. Tidy Cats makes a nice covered cat box as well.

I do think that the cats get a little better about things as they get older….

Hope this helps!

How do you stop two male cats from urinating in the basement (litter boxes in basement)?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: litter boxes

We have two male cats that are both six years old. We just moved into a new house last May. After a few months we noticed that one of the cats or both were starting to urinate on the basement floor (concrete), after cleaning it up and blocking off the two areas it seemed to stop, well It has started back up again in a different spot. We have two littler boxes and change the litter regularly. Any ideas on how to get them to stop using our basement floor as a litter box??

There must have been a cat there previously who peed in the basement. The concrete is very porous and difficult to spot clean and get everything out. Therefore your cleaner covered the smell in one spot where another cat peed, but your cats found another spot that they peed. You can't see it or smell it, but the cats are extra sensitive. They want to pee on that spot and cover it up with their own smell. Maybe think about doing a cleaning treatment to the entire floor so that it all smells the same. Or, you could consider putting in flooring that would take away the porous problem. You could tile it with a lightly glazed tile or lay linoleum down. I wouldn't recommend carpet because basements are usually a little more damp in nature and because of the peeing problem.
